Hematoma Surgery

I have a cat that had a left ear hematoma surgery repair that was done today. I noticed they put a hard E collar around her neck to keep her from pawing at the stitches, I was wondering what else I can do to help her. I see when she goes to eat and drink that the collar cone will hit the floor first and she cannot get to her food or water, is this the normal collar they use or is there a softer one so she can eat and drink, also she has a hard time trying to sleep she cannot get her head down to get comfortable. Thank You.

The inflatable or padded donut collars are more comfortable for the cat. Check to see what your local pet stores carry.
