Misty has been having problems for over a month with both of her eyes. I'll try to keep the back story short, but apologize in advance if that's too hard...
On Christmas Eve, DH and I came home and Misty was squinting and tearing in her left eye. By the day after Christmas she was no better so off to the vet 1st thing. I was hoping she just got something in it and it would clear by itself. The vet said it was conjunctivitis and gave us an antibiotic ointment with a steroid (they did a stain and no corneal scratches). We treated her for 10 days and she was fine.
3 days later same eye looked bad again. Back to the vet for terramycin this time 14 days. Before we got to the end of treatment it "jumped" to her right eye. We switched eyes and treated her right. This time only 7 days and now right looks good and left is bad again.
Vet says it is just transference and to treat both eyes simultaneously for 21 days.
I am concerned that there is an underlying problem that we are not treating. Misty does not have any sneezing, coughing, etc. She is eating, toileting, playing as normal. I am just at a loss.
Does anyone have any thoughts that I can take to the vet to check? I am starting to get really worried about her. Oh, she just turned 2 in September if that make any difference in your thinking.
Thanks all,
Jen
