Hello everyone,

I think two of my rescue kittens might have parasites I have a visit to the vet scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. when I made the appointment the lady on the phone said I have to take a stool sample, the only problem is one of the kittens has develop real bad diarrhea. How do I go about taking a sample under these circumstances? And what should I store it in??

Supplies Needed:
- Pellet litter (Yesterday's News, Blue Buffalo, Feline Pine) you can get this at any pet store. Wal-Mart/Target often carry Feline Pine

- Plastic Spoons

- Ziplock bags (one for each sample

If the diarrhea is watery and you cannot get a clean sample, have the vet pull a sample at the clinic. IMO, this is the best way to get a sample as it is as fresh as it comes.

I would suggest calling the clinic and see if they will just pull an in-house fecal. (I have had 1 clinic that absolutely avoided this at all cost...)
