I just adopted 2 sweet kitties from the shelter. They are 12 week old sisters. Both are spayed. I spoke with the foster mom and she told me that they were born in a home but largely ignored by the humans in that home.
I have never owned or interacted with ferrel cats before so I've been doing research on the internet but I'm not sure how applicable this advice is for my new girls.
Foster mom told me to hold, touch and pet them as much as possible to socialize them. But everything else I read says give them space? I have held and snuggled them but they try to run and hide initially. After I catch them They lay calmly while I pet them.
I'm not sure who to listen to? Foster mom and catch them and love on them. Or let them run and hide?
They have not bitten, scratched or even hissed at me.
