I thought I would post on here and see if anyone can help us.
My wife took in 6 orphaned kittens on Easter 4/16/06 after the mother was killed by a car. The kittens were on her parents farm and went 2 days without anything because no one could find them.
We took them to the vet and they determined that they were about 1 week old. We both spent many many sleepless nights caring for the little guys and she was heartbroken when one of them died. After that I took them back to the vet they said she was doing a wonderful job and it was not her fault. (She was still heartbroken about it though)
Well fast forward to today and we have 5 beautiful playful kittens that she is absolutely in love with. They are about 8 weeks old and she knows that it is time to find homes for them. Of course she wants to keep all five, which just isn't possible because I am very allergic to cats and we have two dogs.
Can someone please give us some advice at placing them in good homes. She has had a couple offers of people wanting them for outside cats, but she said she wants them to be indoors. We have tried a couple no-kill shelters in the area, but neither one is taking kittens at this time.
We are in central IL and would like to find a loving family to take them where she knows they will be loved and live a long and happy life.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks
