My husband and I have just moved into a small flat, it was a big move for us changing cities and the hardest part was leaving behind our beloved British Blue tortoiseshell Toffee... she's about 14 and we thought it cruel to travel as she HATES being in a moving vehicle. We left her in good hands of a loving friend.
Anyway I'm sidetracked here - since moving into our flat we've noticed a cute little grey cat in our yard, she's super smoochy and missing our baby at home we've enjoyed her hanging around. For a few days she would come inside and we'd let her lie on the rug. The other day we saw her on the porch of our neighbors two doors down. The man was outside so we told him we like his cat and that she'd been visiting. He asked which house was ours and when we replied he said the old lady that used to live there died and the cat was hers. That explains why she's so easy coming inside! He told us he'd adopted her since she chose him, he then said "she's anyone's cat really" and laughed.
Last night we did a bad thing - we fed her some salmon as she seemed hungry... now she won't go home. She's sitting outside our door (it's been nearly four hours) she won't go home. Should we ignore her now and hope she goes back to the man? Or should we carry her to him and admit what we've done? We adore her but we're not allowed pets and feel bad enough having to leave our other cat behind. Feeling very irresponsible and worried [emoji]128575[/emoji]
Any advice will help.
