He was fine when I left at about 5 p.m. but when I came home, my Dad noticed that Ripley was limping. I made him lay down and looked at the bottom of his paw. It looks normal. But he will hardly put pressure on his foot at all and right around the ankle area it looks bent-y and swollen.

I have absolutely NO idea what he could have done to do that kind of damage. I plan to take him to the vet asap in the morning. (I am here by myself with my 2 boys) but what should I do in the meantime? Should I confine him to a small room so he can't hurt himself further. Should I make a temporary litter box that is easier to get into? I am at a loss and any help or advise would be a blessing!~

If you think he broke his foot you need to take him to a ER vet. Confining him to a small room will keep him from injurying it further but he is no doubt in pain. and thats not fair. Find a sitter, or take your kids with you, he needs a Vet.
