A few hours ago I received a call from my boyfriend about my 8 wk old kitten. She was hiding under his recliner and he went to go sit down on it and closed the foot rest, he heard a loud yelp so he quickly opened it and got her out. She was obviously frightened, she peed all over the floor. But now we are really worried that she may be hurt. She doesn't have any blood on her or signs of broken bones, nothing on the outside. But I am scared she could have head trauma or be hurt internally. After it happened he said she laid on the floor for awhile and wasn't be really responsive. Later she began to stand up and walk but was swaying back and forth like she couldn't balance. She then was laying on the couch and kept acting like she wanted to get up but would lay back down as if she was disoriented. I looked up signs of internal bleeding and brain damage. he checked to see if her gums were white, they were not. He shined a light in her eyes and they both dilated and appeared to be normal. She seems to be able to see and hear still. She used the litter box and he did not see any blood in her urine or stool. She is now laying down and won't stop purring. I read that after something traumatizing sometimes cats purr a lot to calm themselves if they are in pain. She is now acting really sleepy and barely opening her eyes. We are very worried to let her fall asleep in case she has a brain injury. We are just playing the waiting game as of now and hoping that she will be back to acting normal tomorrow. If she isn't soon then I will be taking her to a vet. He feels terrible about it and it was a complete accident so please don't judge. I am wondering if any has had a similar experience or has any advice?? Thanks
