Desperate for help.
My one year old kitten is refusing to use the litterbox to poop in. It's been months now.. I have one other cat who behaves perfectly and gets along well with my kitten. Here is what I have tried:
1. Adding litter boxes, covered and uncovered
2. Changing litter type, scented, unscented, different brands - I use clay litter
3. Changing food to a high quality, higher moisture dry with high protein and feeding wet cat food nightly (he doesn't like wet food so he won't eat much of it, but I add water so he gets additional fluids). I did this t ensure pooping wasn't hurting him.
4. Giving additional attention = lots of love and pets to make sure he feels loved
5. I never scold or punish the pooping
6. I use a specific enzyme cleaner targetted to eliminate the smell of cat poop to clean each spot, but he goes anywhere and everywhere
Poop looks well formed and healthy, smells normal.
Cat behaviour is otherwise normal.
