I'm new and so glad to have found this site. I have a lovely short haired brown tabby named Shelly......or as my username implies..she has me. She's a frisky 12 year old who is very spoiled yet sweet...although not to other cats. Hence, she's an only-cat.
I do take care of two other cats named Gemini and Dusty..both live at a community farm in my town. Gemini (gemmie/gem-gem as I call her) looks like a Russian Blue though I know she's a "mutt"...she melts my heart with her sheepish expressions and sweet disposition. She found her way on the farm this past summer after her owner could no longer take care of her. She's a ball of fluff but I'm beginning to think she's a bit overweight. Dusty has been at the farm for a few years now ..he's the same color as Gemmie only he has white socks and a white throat and as puffy as gemmie is, Dusty is skin and bones (despite being well-fed) . I'm worried about him as we suspect he has been dealing with a thyroid disorder. His recent tests came back inconclusive and since the farm is run by volunteers and reliant solely on fundraisers , I'm afraid i'm the only one who is really pushing to get further tests and treatment in place for him.
Anyway, look forward to reading about your kitties and sharing information.
