Hi there!
I actually lurked here several times, but I don't remember if I ever actually posted anything...it's been so long. I want a place that I can come to where people understand what it is to really love cats! I have 7 cats and a maybe cat at the moment. I will never have more than this at a time but it's actually pretty easy to take care of them and have fun with them the way I have things set up. Five of my cats are siblings who needed a home 5 years ago...their mother was a stray and lives with my mom now. The sixth we got a year ago June. He really found us because he was starving and needed help. I had thought he was going to the Humane Society but that didn't happen. My 7th was almost a whim, because of a litter of kittens that my mother found in an unsafe place. My 9 year old daughter desperately needed a kitten, of course. And lastly, the reason I say one is a maybe...we are in a trial with a lovely young kitten (5 months old or so....maybe 4-6) who is blind and needs a forever home. Her previous owner was going to euthanize her but the vet stopped her and asked if she would surrender her instead. I hope ours is the forever home she needs but she has to be accepted by my pride. It's been less than 24 hours and everyone is pretty ok with her presence except my one female, Ruby, and the kitten. I thought the kitten would take to her quickly but not yet. My main concern is Ruby, though. I think the kitten will come around. I'm giving it a couple weeks.
Looking forward to discussing all things cat with you!
Jen
