Hello
sorry, I didn't see this forum and started posting before introducing myself. How Rude ! Sorry.
I am a single mum and live in South London with my daughter and a small kitten. I didn't really want a kitten, and certainly not a ginger male again (my ex kept my old cat who was a ginger&white male, called Tom, lol), I wanted an older cat, preferbaly long haired, female and grey..... lol, never send your daughter with dad to work, when the place where he works has just got "kitten, free for good owner".
I never had a kitten ever before. Most of my cats have been semi-wild strays which arrived at my house one day and stayed. So this is kind of new territory. I am used to grumpy old cats who want no more than the odd cuddle and food, otherwise do their own thing. This little thing certainly wants lots of attention.
It's also the first time, I have to get to grips with cat-toilets, as he was too young to be let out straight away, and now prefers the cat toilet to the great outdoors (comes running in, to go to toilet...sigh).
I so far have tried 4 different cat-litters and haven't been happy with any of them. Today I went out, drove for 45 mins, and got World's Best. Let's see how that goes. It better be good, for that price! I was rather shocked
He doesn't really seem to mind what kind of cat litter he has, as long as it is squeaky clean. If it isn't, he will complain, but thankfully not go somewhere else. Just sit in front of the toilet and miaow. He is really very well behaved. He also learns very fast. Is that because he is a kitten ? It took me no more than 1 day to stop him from biting and to teach him not to use his claws while playing.
Anyway, this is getting too long - greetings to you all, and glad to have found these really nice people here
Cheers
Sabine
