I'm glad to have found this board! What a wealth of information there is here. I'm Stephanie and I'm from Texas (hence the user name). I have 2 girls, Callie, a beautiful 8 year old tortie and little Hannah Grace, a 7 month old tabby cat, who is currently in solitary confinement with an upper respiratory infection. (I'm going to try to post pics of them. We'll see if they work!)
Callie's my love and has been with me for 6 years. She wandered onto my back patio, starved and crying, and never left. She's now a chubby 13 lbs and on a restricted diet to trim off those unwanted and extra pounds. I suspect she was abused and abandoned before coming to me as she's extremely skittish at times and hides under the bed when we have visitors. She tolerates my DH, but she really could care less for him.
She has a sweet personality and is quite the ham at times. It's hard not to love her.

Hannah Grace is a wee little thing, tipping the scales at 4 lbs. We just rescued her from death row at Animal Control one week ago today. She's spent most of the last week at the vet's office since she has an URI and was having lots of congestion, sneezing, some breathing difficulties, and runny eyes/nose. She came home on Friday and she's doing well. Today, for the first time, she rolled over and showed me her tummy!!
This after having to wrap her up like a burrito twice a day to administer her meds!!
She's just a love, too. She has so much love to give and is constantly kneading on me and purring when in my lap or when I'm holding her. Can't wait for her to get well, start playing, and running around the house.
