Ok, yes...my cat's name is Lightbulb. Boyfriend and I made a deal that if I got to pick out the kitten, he got to name him/her...and so when I met this little fur-ball and fell in love....he became known as Lightbulb
Now for the introduction. My name is Katie, but friends call me Kazzy, or some variation of it. Just a nickname I picked up from high school. I'm from TN, a small-ish town, which is just how I like it. Big time animal freak. Whether it has fur, scales, feathers, exoskeletons...everything. Used to even breed geckos. Right now I only have one though, an adult patternless leopard gecko female whom I've come to call Phoebe. I'm also breeding some Chinese and English praying mantises, which are very interesting. So if anyone out there has questions about the non-furies, feel free to ask me. If I don't know the answer I can point you in the right direction.
Justin (my boyfriend of 2 years) and I decided last December that we were ready to get our first cat. We both love cats, so I started looking at rescue shelters and through Craigslist for any kitty who needed a home. At first I contacted a shelter about a kitten they had. Sadly they called me a few days later saying they had to put her down because she was suffering from both Feline Leukemia and AIDS. Later that day I got a reply on a Craigslist ad though, about two kittens that were weened and ready to go. The woman had found the mom (a stray) giving birth on her back porch and took them all in. She had found all but two homes. She sent me pics and brief descriptions of their personalities and I chose to meet the smaller, more outgoing/playful one. And boy was it love at first site! He was a total goof ball! Constantly purring, 'kneading dough', rubbing up against us, and meowing his little head off, even though he was frightened to be outside. We immediately took him home. He's now a lot bigger, still goofy as ever, and turns a year old on August 31.
Now that I've typed a book, guess it's time for pics
Sorry if they are a little junky. My camera recently broke so I have been using my phone.
When we first brought him home, cuddling with his 'daddy':
And just some pics of him being his goofy self:
Hope you enjoy and can't wait to meet everyone and their kitties
