It has been quite a while since I have posted to the group. I hope to find everyone well and in good spirits.
So much has happened in the last several months. My mother became gravely ill in September and passed away on Thanksgiving Day. I disenrolled from college just after mid-terms in order to bring mother home from the hospital and care for her. She was home with me only 8 days before returning to hospital and dying a few days after later. Needless to say, the holidays were saddened by our loss.
My kits are doing well. Dottie is 17 years old now, and still plays like a kitten. She is walking with a slight limp in the hind area, mostly when she awakens. The limping eases after she walks a bit. The vet assures me this is age related stiffness, not arthritis. Bleu-boy, 15 years old, is doing good after his fight with FLD last spring. He has days that he does not look so good, but he comes around after resting. I have mainstreamed his food in order to force him to come out and socialize. He is eating well, and will certainly let me know if the food dish is empty. Penney is now 14 months old. She remains small, weighing only 5.5 pounds. She is sweet as pie and her personality is really coming through. Her *missing* eye continues to drain, but is looking well enough that perhaps she can finally have the surgery needed to permanently suture the lids together. Duffy is 7-months old now. He is a large kitten weighing 10.5 pounds. He loves the water, and is a climber not a jumper. He is large boned, and muscular, and has soft fur like a bunny. I think there is a lot of Turkish Van in him. Duffy is the clown and acrobat of the group.
Since I am out of school, and not working, I hope to have more time to spend with you on this site. I look forward to checking out all the new pics and reading about everyone's purr-babies.
Regards,
Joyce
