As a few of you might remember, I took in a stray a few months ago. His hair has finally grown back in, and he's filled out and looks beautiful now. I took him in for a neuter a few weeks ago, and the vet said that he found a heart murmer and they had to cut away a bunch of infected skin on the bottom of his foot. He's healed fine from the surgeries, but the vet wanted me to bring him back in to check out his heart murmur. I know that Main Coons are prone to cardiomyopathy, and I think that he's at least part Main Coon, so I'm a little worried about him. He pants alot and his breathing seems irregular. I'm so worried that it might be heart disease. What are the symptoms of heart disease, and is there anything that can be done for him if he does have it?? (He's around 5 years old they said) He's also been having diarrhea for a little over a week now, and I'm wondering what might be causing it. He didn't have it when I brought him in a few months ago, and he doesn't go outside so I have no idea what's going on there.
He has a vet appointment this Saturday, but I just want everyone's opinions since I'm a little nervous.
Here's a few pictures of him. Doesn't he look wonderful now??
