My kitten is a little over 6 months and will not eat. I put her infront of the water bowl and she drinks, but does not eat. She is getting very weak and im getting very worried. Help!
It's very dangerous for cats to go without food as they can develop fatty liver disease, which can be fatal. It is vital that you get some food into her and get her to a vet immediately. If she is already growing weak, it is an emergency and you need to take her to an ER vet.
Only a vet can diagnose what is wrong with your cat and treat it. It can be any number of things: constipation, dental issue, worms, intestinal blockage, ileus, etc. Please take your cat to the vet ASAP.
i tried feeding her like with force and she still wouldnt do it im calling today, but i do not know how much itll cost because we dot really have the money for a vet because i just had a baby brother
If you have any honey or karo syrup, try rubbing it on her gums to at least get some energy into her. Also if you can get some chicken or turkey baby food, without garlic or onions (very important) and a needleless syringe, you can feed her by squirting a little at a time into her cheek. You can get the syringes at a pharmacy. The main thing you need to do, however, is take her to the vet today. I totally understand the money issue, believe me, as I have been there. Some vets will work with you by letting you pay on time or post date checks. You can also apply for Care Credit which a lot of our members have done.
Please let us know how things go with your little one. My fingers are crossed for both of you.
There are suggestions here on how to afford vet bills: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/155462/cant-afford-a-vet-please-read Look into low cost vet clinics in your area besides the regular clinics / hospitals. May I also suggest putting some money away every month to use for future pet emergencies?
