A few weeks ago, our cat peed on the guest bedroom bed twice in one week. We took him to the vet 2 weeks ago and they said his ph was 6.5 and should be 6 and that he had some crystals in his urine. They put him on a prescription diet and he's been on only that since then and hasn't had any accidents. We've been keeping the bedroom doors shut. Two days ago we had a bay window installed so I had to put him in the master bedroom for the day and he did fine. To get him in there so I could shut the door and keep him from running out with me, I did give him a few "Pounce" brand treats cuz I didn't think the prescription diet would be enough to get him to go into the room long enough for me to close the door with him in there. He did fine staying in there the whole day and used his litter box. This morning my husband accidentally shut him in the guest room after ironing in there and when I got up an hour after my husband left, I looked around and found he was shut in there. I checked the bed and he peed on it again. Do you think the Pounce treats were enough to make him do that again or do you think he could smell the pee from before? We sprayed the bed with Febreeze the last time and flipped the mattress over so we thought that would kill the smell. Any thoughts or suggestions on this are very welcome. Thanks.
