I can supply testimony that Cranberry is a great way to prevent UTI's in humans. As a person who gets recurring UTI's, taking AZO has been a great preventative measure.
But cranberry and cranberry suplements don't cure a UTI, for that you still need a doctor's visit and some antibiotics.
I suppose if you have a kitty that has recurring UTI's and the vet bills are starting to get costly, then I don't see the harm in attempting a hollistic approach and controlling the problem.
