Harness size

So now the weather is getting nice here and I have decided to try to take one of my cats out with me in my second floor balcony to hang with me since he loves looking out the window so much. I am not sure how my other cat will do and I may try with her later.

Shadow is a big boy. He is long, lanky, and has big feet. I am not sure but I think his daddy was a Tom cat. Anyway, he is about 15-16 pounds of all muscle. I don't think a regular harness for a cat will fit him so I am thinking I have to go to a dog harness.

I have two questions, will a cat harness fit him? If not, what size dog harness should I use, small or medium?

You're really going to have to measure him to get the right fit, no matter whether it's a cat or dog harness. One brand's "small" is another's "medium". I used a dog's H-shaped harness for our last cat, but there are also jacket-like ones that a cat can't easily slip out of.
