The actual holiday is Monday. Today is the day that all the stores are closed, except my work...of course. I went to my boyfriends aunts for dinner last night. We didn't know until we got there that both sides of the family were going to be there. That was weird. The food was disguisting. The turkey was ice cold and tough, the stuffing was too chewy, the potatoes were lumpy and cold and were made with those yellow potatoes. The dinner rolls were stale. The one thing I was looking forward to was the pumpkin pie, and it was fresh out of the oven and ended up tasting like eating mushy nutmeg. Thats the last time I'm spending Thanksgiving there.Originally Posted by valanhb
Happy Thanksgiving!! (a day late and a dollar short, I think) But nonetheless, I hope you all had a fabulous day yesterday, and I need to write to the calendar company that thinks that Canadian Thanksgiving is Monday.
We always do the get-together on the Sunday as well just so everyone can kick back and recuperate on Monday before tackling another work week even if it is only 4 days instead of 5.Originally Posted by catlover19

Dinner was fabulous! Roast turkey, stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce (I can't stand canned sauce) whipped potatoes, gravy, turnip, cauliflower with cheese sauce, pickles, queen olives, rolls and butter, the spicy V-8 juice, a selection of cheeses, pumpkin pie with whipped cream, cherry cheesecake, cookies. I even had Thanksgiving crackers for everyone (like Christmas crackers only in fall colours). I'm still stuffed even though dinner was yesterday! Actual holiday is today, but we always do the dinner on Sunday, like just about everyone else!
Lots of leftovers - anyone want me to send them a turkey sandwich?
Yuck....no thanks. The stuffing would be ok, but no cranberry's please! Just a big slab of mayo!!!Originally Posted by LokisMum
On it's way! Would you like stuffing and cranberry sauce on your sandwich?
