I have to start this post off by saying "Oh man" ... as I forgot how much information is out there about cat food! It's been 7 years since researching cat food for my Silvio.
Upon doing some research, I realized what I'm looking for is a wet cat food that has limited ingredients and is grain free. So far, I've only found one brand that has what I'm looking for: Tiki Cat.
My question is: are there any others that are grain free, limited ingredient?
I'd prefer to stay away from ingredients such as: peas, celery, cranberry, etc. Even though I know Silvio has been eating Natural Balance for the past 7 years and doing pretty well and I believe some of their dry food has some of those ingredients listed. I think it's just time to step away from some of those ingredients as I don't think cats need fruit and veg in their diet. Or do they?
What also bothers me are the thickening agents like guar gum. Is it possible to get wet food without a thickener?
I just want the best for my guy, especially as he's entering his next stage of life: almost 10 going on 3 months.
Wow. I have a lot of questions. I really appreciate this forum. Thanks for your help so far!
