Last Saturday my 2 year old female cat Tinky had to go to the vets because she had been sick and was quite smelly. We found out that she had problems with her anal glands which had to be squeeze. It's not a very pleasant subject but I want to find out more information about this.
She is still throwing up her food (last time was tonight) the Vet said this happened because where she has tried to clean the gland area the infection is now in her system.
Does anyone know how long the infection will stay in her system?
She's on antibiotics for the next couple of weeks so I'm hoping she'll stop being sick soon.
I've never had this problem before & Tinky is my first female cat so I'm wondering..
Does it occur more in females?
Does anyone else have this problem with their cat?
& Could this happen again?
My Vet said it was extremely rare for a cat to get problems with the glands.
I feel bad because at the moment the only way I can help her is give her antibiotics.
Thanks for any help
