hmm I might have to rip some of his magazines up. lol
Well I wouldn't call it a ''lazy way of reading music''...its just for those who don't know how to read music. I'm guessing by what he said though, that he does read music, so tabs would be out then. In that case, I'd suggest finding a piece that he does like alot...maybe out of one of his music books if he has some. Copy it (them) and see if you can work with that...

Haha can you tell he has a nastier side....sarcastic...
He doesn't have music books, just magazines. He just listens to a song and starts to play it. Natural.

Hmmmm.

Well no I wouldn't call it a nastier side but its just that if you look at the tabs I posted before for The Beatles ''Blackbird''...they sure don't look like a lazy way to read music at all! Of course...I can't read music or figure out tabs so it all looks pretty complicated to me!!!

I hope you can find something awesome to give him as a gift! I too understand about giving him that 'all occasion' gift that Natalie and others have suggested...being together as long as my hubby & I have...even though that particular gift is always a welcome one...it can get a little old after a while
S'like 'what, that again?'...
