While weeding out invastive plants by the Mississippi, I get a shout from my pca to come help him out with a big fish. I drop my garbage bag ful of weeds and run over and wade in ( i'm wearing sandles). I grab the fish ( a large freshwater drum) and haul it onto the riverbank, a man sees us and offers to help, he gives me his knife and I gut and chop the head off, he fallets it on a large rock and we take the meat home and fry it up after skinning the scales off.
the fish was very large almost 10lbs in weight (a wild guess)
Tastes somewhere between turkey and gator
Not something I'm doing very often for fish eating safety reasons. I have a fishng lisence and my pca does to.
Whe I go to the dr at the end of the month, do you guys think a murcery test is a good idea ( Government DNR standards say you can eat river fish, a meal a month if youe not preg, or planning on getting somebuddy preg).
