It's been a wonderful ride--getting to know my new little companion. She has a wildly onery sense of humor and makes me laugh daily. She isn't really affectionate with me. Not one for my lap or any cuddles. She just doesn't have time for that stuff. She's too busy exploring her new home.
Yesterday I came dragging in from work and discovered she had managed to pull toilet paper from one end of the apartment to the other--leaving only two tiny holes in it!!!! My baby's got talent!!!
On Monday her daddy leaves for his new home in Florida. Tonight he came by to visit her and it was just so sad. Turtle is quite a chatterbox so they had their own private conversation. He seems to understand what she says. I don't talk "turtle" yet.
When he left she got up in her window and watched him get in his car and drive away. She glanced over at me, jumped down and came to me. And for once and only once she let me scoop her up in my arms. I felt like I had been finally been accepted. You know to be accepted by a cat is a treasured thing.
My Turtle Dove, this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship!
