Looks like we are going to get Isaac. Bought extra water this morning, got plenty of food in the house. Waiting til tomorrow morning and will put up shutters --- unless we have a "miracle" and it heads further west. Naples/Ft. Myers will get some of it -- we live inland - so it's not as bad as being on the coast. Thurs we had a bad rain and windstorm which blew a pine branch on the roof. Our neighbor went up and removed it Fri --- (if Paul or I attempted it we'd have broken our necks) --- thanks for a good neighbor. No damage - just a lot of debris - which we will probably get with Isaac. We have a lot of thick shrubbery on one side of our house which is a potential fire hazard in the dry season. We had gotten an estimate on removing it and decided that it would be the wise thing to do. It's expensive, but I'd rather pay $1,000 now than risk losing our house to a fire in the dry season, and we did have some fires on our street a few years ago. So Thurs we're having all the high bushes taken out. They use this machine that looks like a tank and it completely takes everything down to the ground and mulches it. I watched a video of this machine on the computer and it does a great job. It'll be safe for our house and also make the property look a lot bigger with that whole side taken out.
Think of us during Hurricane (or Tropical Storm) Isaac. We may lose power, but in the past they restored it quickly in our area.
