in his defense that stuff tastes horrible! sounds like you found a great Dr!!!! We have a foster cat who is in a leg cast, he has managed to get out of it 3 times now (little wiener!), he is on antibiotics and will spit it back on me if I don't catch his mouth really quick! Hang in there, you are an amazing kitty momma!!

I'm glad to hear that Tango was taken off of the steroids
I hope he's doing better - any updates?

His eye is pretty much the same- still a bit swollen with plaque in his eye. Some days I think he's doing better then other days I think he's doing worse.
He keeps rubbing/scratching at it a lot so he has scabs all over his eye. I am trying to keep the E-collar on him as much as possible but it's hard.

As I type this, he is laying on the desk with his head on my arm looking pitifully at me (trying to get me to remove the e-collar but I'm resisting so far...
).

I have a follow up visit with his eye specialist on Fri at 9:30 so we'll see what she has to say.

I'll keep you posted. Thanks for checking in and letting me know that Tango and I are still in your thoughts.

Quick update- THANK YOU for continuing to care about my furbabies.

Vet said she saw no ucler and plaque in his eye so that's a BIG improvement.
She's puzzled about why his eye is still swollen, PINK and raw from all his rubbing so she decided to stop all medicine and see. One theory she has is that his body develops allergies to the new medicine and I think this is a real possibility because we noticed the first few days with a new medicine, he'd do GREAT but after 2-3 days, his eye would go downhill again.

I am still giving him L-Lysine and putting cortaid cream on his scabs (hopefully reducing itching). Last nite I didn't put e-collar on and his eye was all raw this morning.
I put the e-collar on before I left for work and he was NOT HAPPy. Who could blame him??

If his eye continues to be troublesome, I'll bring him back to the vet. She said to bring him back in 2-3 weeks if he does well and sooner if he develops problems again.

Pls keep your fingers crossed that the swelling/itching will go away SOON and that he's 100% recovered from this.

Right now I am NOT HAPPY with him and he knows it.. I have to figure out a way to keep him OFF MY LAPTOP! Any ideas about this is WELCOME. This is the second time he has screwed my laptop up and I wasted over half an hour fixing it.
This is NOT a good time for me since I am overwhelmed with work and have to bring work home to try to catch up on work...

I LOVE him but doesn't like him laying on my laptop at all.

Buddy's doing GOOD. It's nearly impossible to give him eye medicine (he is like a greased pig-impossible to hold if he doesn't want to be held!) but luckily he gobbles l-lysine pills up wrapped in treats and l-lysine is helping to make his ulcer smaller and smaller soo in time.....

Keep doing a wonderful job, it's improving!
Also, even if it's hard, maybe you should never take off his e-collar until it's completely healed. This way, he'll have no choice but to get used to it and it will be less painful than knowing what it feels like to be free of it. When my Zoe had an eye ulcer, she got used to the e-collar within 24 hours. At first, she wouldn't move at all, because it scared her. My other cat, Tania, it took her 3 days, because she didn't recognize Zoe (when Zoe had it on).
Did your vet ever give you serum to put in Tango's eyes? I know it's probably not the same thing, but when Zoe got her ulcer, it wouldn't heal because there wasn't enough blood circulation in her eyes, therefore not enough white cells to heal the ulcer. I had to give her a drop of serum (the white part of the blood) every hour (or as often as possible) and within a few days I could see a big change.

Again, good luck and keep us posted.
