Jan, do you make any fine designer jewelry like that piece listed on the site you posted?
Pam - I have cut various stones, but do not have the metalworking skills. I have set stones in commercially available mountings. (14K gold, sterling silver, base metal)Jan, do you make any fine designer jewelry like that piece listed on the site you posted?

Tabby & Daisy got a necklace with some special stone yours my friend?..
Just wondering...
Jan, have you ever tried precious metal clay? I've been amazed at what people in the classes we've had at the store have been able to do with it... it's fairly expensive stuff, but small pieces can be annealed with a torch instead of a kiln, which cuts the cost 'way down!Originally Posted by gemlady

You'd love some of my quartz specimens. From a 2 pounder I would take to schools, to a tiny double scepter specimen and some Jeffrey Quarry Solution Quartz specimens.Originally Posted by Trillcat

I am a rock hound from years back. Many years.
My love started I don't quite remember when, but I remember being so happy when family vaccation time came around, to a lake, so I could look for pretty rocks! Wading around amongst the tadpoles in the shallows by the big rocks. Had quite a collection! (of rocks, not tadpoles)
All my collection is gone, not supprising as this was over 35 years ago. Except one. A piece of not to great looking orange quartz crystal looking thing.
When I became pagan, I took an interest in crystals, they attuned to me, or I attuned to them, as I said, rock hound, now with occult knowledge! (Paste that as a new and improved on a breakfast cerial)
I became fascinated with rose quartz. Something about it I just liked. Not really a pink person, but there was just an energy there. Got out my old orange rock, Dont know why, long forgotten at this point The orange was just the surface, It was rose quartz.
Opals! Sorry, that was unexpected. lol. That is my birthstone, and I love them, never found one in the wild though. I never bought one for myself, your not suposed to do that, bad mojo or something, unless your stone is that, just never wanted to temp fate.
Just be sure that it wouldn´t be a heavy stone my friend.....Originally Posted by caitsith

Have you ever collected sea glass? I just saw a TV show on this recently. I had no idea this stuff was collectible, and is worth money! I'm going to look for it the next time I'm at the beach.Originally Posted by Jupeycat
I'm interested in gem stones, fossils and I'm a beachcomber though I've never found any fossils myself. We've just come back from Whitby - the land of jet.
I actually did pick up a small piece of brown glass when we were at the beach last week, I didn't realise it was made into jewellery until I googled it!Originally Posted by Dusty's Mom

Google sea glass and you'll see what I mean!
