Found on the net: The orange crop devastation began in 2005 when a bacterium that causes huanglongbing – better known as citrus greening or HLB disease – was found in southern Florida. Since then, the Asian citrus psyllid, a tiny flying insect which transmits the disease, has been blown across Florida by various hurricanes, which also brought down orange trees.

Wow, I had no idea. I heard that the Hawaiian bee has been placed on the endangered list.

What is the correct pronunciation of Dr. Seuss's name?
Well, humph.  That will teach me to try to be a know-it-all.  I was thinking of Citrus Canker caused by Xanthomonas axonopodis  but your answer works, too.

Theodore (the usual way)

Seuss - Suus (not Zuus)

Geisel - Guyzel  (emphasis on first syllable)

What is the tendency of plants to reach towards light called?

Pronouncing Dr Seuss:

According to the authors of the book "You're Saying It Wrong," Geisel pronounced it "Soice" (rhyming with voice).

One of his friends, Alexander Liang, even created this little poem about how people said Seuss.

"You’re wrong as the deuce
And you shouldn’t rejoice
If you’re calling him Seuss.
He pronounces it Soice (or Zoice)."

Apparently, so many people got it wrong he just stopped correcting them.

Plants reaching for the light... phototropism...

What happens when you type "Zerg Rush" into the google search engine?

Because of all the boxes you get from shopping? They think it's because Christmas Boxes were given to post men and errand boys as a gift for their work during the year. This happened the first week day after Christmas Day.

I always thought Boxing Day was called that because December 26th was the traditional day for giving gift boxes to staff and tradesmen.  I think it got its name in the Victorian era but actually is no longer celebrated as much as in earlier years.

(HAPPY BOXING DAY!!!!! @Primula)

When and where did the musical form known as boogie woogie develop and what is the main musical instrument involved?
