My cat, Bo, is one of those picky eaters. He currently eats several flavours of one brand- Merrick (Turducken, Grammy's Pot Pie and Thanksgiving Dinner). If he does eat other brands, it is with one of these flavours of Merrick mixed in.
I am concerned with recalls. Merrick doesn't exactly have the best track record of quality control but this is literally the only wet food my cat will eat. He eats Halo chicken, Weruva chicken and duck flavours, Natures Variety Instinct ( rabbit, chicken, and venison flavours), sometimes Wellness (mostly rejects it). He will only eat these brands if they are mixed with Merrick... if I go to give him one of these brands without mixing, he refuses to eat it. I leave it for long periods but I don't want to risk affecting his liver or his glucose levels as he is middle aged-senior.
What would I do in case of a recall? IF there was a Merrick recall, all I could see happening is me putting him back on kibble which is something I DO NOT want to do.
I have also tried raw. ALL of the tricks I know how to do. Everything everyone on here has suggested... this is my hundredth (feels like it) thread I have started on my cats fussiness and I'm starting to feel very down trodden
Any suggestions? Please tell me I'm not a bad cat owner
Also- has anyone heard of any recent Merrick recalls or of a site that is kept updated on cat/dog food recalls? Thanks so much...
