Good morning community! I know someone recently posted questions about Fevers of Unknown Origin, but our Kissa's case is a little different, and I need some guidance. She's been running a fever almost two weeks. The highest it was occurred on Monday at 106.7, and the following day it was normal. She's been running a slight fever ever since, but today it was 105! The thing is that the fever, lethargy, and third eyelid protrusion are the only symptoms. She's eating, drinking, acting normal otherwise. The vet told us to let time/medicine take it's course, and to not worry about the animal ER unless her temp was 107. But I'm about to lose my mind. We lost three babies in 6 months last year--two to cancer and one to old age (she was 19).
I have read online that FUOs can last weeks, that it's the nature of the beast. But has anyone had any experience with FUO that has lasted that long? I'm taking Kissa to the vet on Tuesday regardless for some resolution. (We have her cell number in case of emergency, but I'm holding off until in case her temp gets to that awful number.)
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank y'all!
