How is your baby doing? Many people are divide on sending their babies to the Rainbow Bridge, or just letting them get there on their own, and it is by far, the most heartbreaking of decisions.
I had to decide that for my DiddoKahli, and I am so happy that I helped her there. She was in so much pain, but she knew (I don't understand how cats know this, but they do) that I would help her.
We had kitty kisses all the way.
Bless you for your love towards your baby, and know that whatever you decide to do, it will be governed by love. Your baby already knows that.
Thanks for all the thoughts, prayers and vibes. Freckles is still comfortable at home right now. I honestly didn't think he was coming home when I talked to the vet on Friday, but I think part of the problem was that he was just plain scared in the clinic. As soon as the tech tried to take his temp he hyperventelated, which made any symptoms seem worse. Anyway he's on 1/2 a tablet of Lasix twice a day and I have the option of putting him on Prednisone should he need it. I'm taking it day by day and just keeping him comfortable.
You are making the right decision for him - as long as he is comfortable and you can be with him then take it as it comes. One of the worst things about losing Napoleon last week was that he died alone and in great pain.
Thanks, it's hard, but I don't mean to hijack your thread. I am just happy that you can be with Freckles and choose the time and place whenever it is necessary.
Hugs to you and Freckles. I am so sorry for what both of you are going through. I would do the same as you are doing. You will know when to do different. Freckles will let you know when he is ready to go.
A quick update - Freckles has taken a turn for the worse. He's not eating much and I'm having a hard time getting his pills into him. The only thing he's interested in is drinking out of the toilet, and he's having problems with his balance once he's on the toilet seat. So I am sending him to the Bridge on Tuesday. I was given the option of bringing him in sooner, but I want his regular vet (it's a 6 vet practice) there and he seems comfortable enough for the moment.
