I realized I should split this out from the thread on the available older American Curl in CA, so it's Frankie's own thread
I only have a minute, so sharky will pm you later but it is the BEST news! Frankie is fiv/felv negative!!! She is estimated to be 2-3 y.o., spay status could not be determined, as as my vet said, she's not a candidate at her current state of starvation, for exploratory surgery, so it will become clear if she goes into heat or not.
She weighs 5# 12 oz (and that only because she's eaten about 3 cups of food in less than 48 hours), and my vet estimates she should be between 8 and 10. She passed her neurological brief exam, so at the moment, the working diagnosis for the hind legs going out from under her when she turns or gets up quickly, is that it is because she is so thin and weak.
She had her rabies vaccine and her first set of shots for upper respiratory, and her first dose of Strongid, though her fecal results weren't back yet, it was a safe guess that she needed to be treated.
We took a video of her that I will email you Sharky, she is one loving, lovely little red lynx point (I finally can see the bars on her legs and the M on her face, so she is a lynx point).
Got to run, it's an insane day!
