I had a cat that had that surgery young in life and he lived to be 14 with never another urinary problem. I had to put him down because he had a tumour on his liver.
The surgery sounded scary so Im glad he didn't need that aswell. I feel so bad for him, he must have been so uncomfortable beforehand. Im so glad he's doing better, I hope you can get your boy home today, back with his family who miss him lots.
Great News....Fozzi is home. He's alert, and purring like a motor boat. He has to wear his Elizabethean colar for two weeks, and we need to keep him in a room by himself so his brothers dont clean he wound. He jumped straight in the box and took a small pee. He is swollen but at least he remembers the box. We will find out more about what food to get him on when the results of the crystal analysis comes back. So far so good. It's gonna be a long few weeks, but at least hes home, safe and happy.
