They look great!

How are the eyes today?

And has the diarrhea improved?

I think what I saw was pee and poo mixed in a corner, because there was only solid today.

It's still yellow.
Clavamox for 2 more days, then a break.
Skye has both eyes open all of the time now. One of them is very discolored. Almost a red purple color.
The other eye is still very cloudy and shiny.

One of the older kittens came in there and started "mothering" Skye last night. She was chirping at her to come with her.
And Sookie got to play with the older one a bit.
Before I could stop it, it happened.
Now I hope no one else shows any symptoms.

Can you please look at the photo above of Skye's eyes?

If this is herpes, does she need different medicine, if it's not too late?

I'm concerned about the yellow poop. It needs to be brown.

i think you may need to discuss Skye's eyes and the yellow poop with the vet.

There is some damage going on with her eyes, can you give me a quick rundown of how old, meds on, etc?

I see they've been on clavamox, the poop being yellow and soft/diarrhea is caused from the clav, a probiotic is helpful like fortiflora, or pure pumpkin.

They are reaching four weeks.
Unsure of exact age. They have plenty of little teeth.

They are on Clavamox until Saturday, that makes two full weeks.
They were on Terramycin two full weeks.
Now they are on Tobramycin. For one more week. It's been one full week as of tomorrow.
Skye has not been opening her eyes at all. She just started to open both of them about 3 days ago.
The second opinion vet I took her to said it could be herpes, or chlamydia.
If the latter, the meds she was on would clear it up.
Now she is doing so much better. I mean a lot better. But it seems as though there is damage.
It's hard to tell, but the other eye is cloudy and shiny almost.
She uses her ears and nose to get around right now.

I hope you can find out what is wrong with the kitten's eye and get it to heal. When my cat was found as an abandoned baby, his eyes were glued shut from feline herpes. In the end the shelter had to do surgery at the same time as they neutered him  to remove a layer of his eye so that he would be able to see. He seems to see pretty well now, but it seems like in the dark he can't see the same as a normal cat. I really hope with your kitten it doesn't come to this and his eye can be fixed more easily.

Tobramycin is okay for either issue, so that's fine.

I think the damage is done, the one pupil is distorted looking, the cloudy eye is scar tissue, it may clear up some amt, but only time will tell with this.

That must be why the vet said just to continue treatment.
He said we won't know how her vision will be right now.
My husband is out getting some goats milk and pumpkin. I am going to try a little mush again, they seem interested in it.
I know no matter what she is loved and will be taken care of.

You're doing a great job with these kittens! They are very lucky to have you. Even if she ends up blind, she will be healthy otherwise, well loved, and have a great home. It will be a bonus if she retains some vision in one eye. I've pushed eye treatment because the window of opportunity is narrow. These guys didn't get a healthy start in life, but they would have had no chance without you!

Goat's milk and pumpkin sound great :).

Thank you so much!
I really appreciate it. It's hard, but I can see the rewards.
On the goats milk, is pasteurized ok?
Full fat? It's all I could find.

It is so hard, so stressful, but it does have an ending to it, and when you can see and know that you gave them life and helped them be well, is priceless. It fills your heart.

I don't see her as blind in both eyes, her better eye has the hazy look which is a thin film of scar tissue, but it doesn't take her vision away.

Just keep doing what you've been, time will tell.

Either way she is alive and on the mend. I've learned so much here, it's unresl. ♡

One of the older kittens has what looks like pink eye...
No other symptoms.
Are the drops okay for her too?

Let's see what catwoman707 catwoman707 thinks, because I'm wondering if they are all about to get something with whatever it is going around. We want to be very careful with eye infections.

Yeah, I'm nervous now. Just one of the older ones has a crusty eye.
KitKat had the same thing while pregnant. The ointment cleared it up.
We are so careful with washing and we bleach everything the babies sleep on or use.

Did you mean the terramycin ointment or the tobramycin drops to use?

Go ahead with the terramycin ointment for now. It won't hurt. I just want her opinion since the orphans have had an eye issue.

Eye infections in kittens will usually spread to them all eventually.

However, using the same tube used on Skye for another is not a good idea.

This is why I teach my fosters to squeeze the ribbon on to their wrist then cap and smear it on with their finger, because the tube is now contaminated.

Hers is alot worse and you don't want to spread it around like that.

Same with the drops, the tip tends to touch their eye sometimes, contaminating it.

You should be able to call and get another tube though without a visit, vet already knows and charged you for the visit, etc.

With the new tube remember what I said about contaminating it. Just squeeze some out on another place, I use my wrist so it's right there. Plus then you can cap it right away and not waste any, as the tube keeps oozing medicine out that you don't need!

Down the road the med can be used again if needed with no worries about it being contaminated :)
