Does your vet do any vitals when you go there?
Next time ask them to listen to her heart and have them weigh her.
They also should check her mouth and ears and take her temperture.
My vet does it everytime we go.

Mistoflees has had one for years. Vet told me he had one at his last checkup, he's 17 years old

My Mom's cat had a heart murmur and she lived to a rip old age. She was on medication and they had to take her to the Cardiologist 2x a year. It is manageable, but the Cardiologist can be expensive.

All three of mine were weighed before their spays and neuter, but they always get weighed at their yearly checkups as well.
Was it a private vet or somewhere like the PDSA or The Blue Cross. Even so their always thorough anyway.
