She may just be hiding at first. Cats at a new place do that sometimes...mine hid in her carrier and then moved to a box I had put in the room for her in case she wanted to hide.
I got a fright the next morning when I bent down to look in her carrier to see...nothing. I would visit her to sit on the floor on the other side of the room with my tablet and to talk to her in a low, happy voice sometimes and to check her litter box and present her with toy gifts by placing them about two feet away on the ground. After 24 hours, while I was visiting her, she made a plaintive meow cry. Good thing I didn't leave as she started coming out of the box, stretching at first, then coming over to me and swishing her tail all around back and forth...I guess ready to fight. I kept her in her room for about 5-6 days, visiting her often. After a few days, she really was interested in what was outside the door when I left. Then, I figured she was ready and let her out to introduce her to my apt. ^_^ Your cat might be "hiding" until she feels safe.
