Two steps forward and one step back.  It's probably the most frustrating thing when treating a cat that has an illness.  Little Girl would be perfect for a week and then seem to have a relapse.  You say that it presents as almost a neurological problem, but it might be beneficial to look into a central nervous system problem.  Some fungal infections, ect, will effect the central nervous system and present problems like seizures, circling, and stumbling.

Thank you all.  I took her into the vet this morning and was prescribed clindamycin in hopes that it might be toxoplasmosis.  This vet was not as positive as the last we saw.   I'm hoping the first was more on track.   This morning's vet recommended a neurological specialist, but we cannot afford it right now and wanted to try the antibiotics first. Temp was good, and she has gained .4 lb in less than a week.  She started climbing using her claws this morning to climb the seat to get into my lap :)

Anyone know of any potential negative effects of the clindamycin if she, in fact, doesn't have toxo?

The side effects are pretty common for cats on an antibacterial or antifungal medication.  Diarrehea, vomiting, decreased appetite, and decreased weight.  It is also important to have periodic blood work done on the liver and kidneys to make sure that the medication has not impaired them in any way.  It is possible to cause damage to both organs.

Little Girl was on intraconazal for histoplasmosis.  As her weight went up, the dosages got bigger and we did see a slight increase in her kidneys, but that fixed itself by the next blood work.
