Hello

I took on two sweet foster kittens back in September, little orange tabby girls I named Pumpkin and Butternut. They were pulled from a rural shelter. When they came to me, Butternut had a cold. It took a couple of weeks, but eventually, it went away.

We realized they probably both had herpes.

Within a week of having them, Pumpkin had issues with her left eye. It went from squinty to an ulcer incredibly quickly. We tried for weeks to treat and brought her to an eye specialist. She was just done with the eye drops and me.

Once we got over that and had her last visit, they saw she had ring worm on her ear. We dealt with that.

When they got fixed,Pumpkin got an infection. That actually cleared up pretty quickly. But again, she wouldn’t come near me for a bit because I was always doing something to her.

Now, I just noticed she has chin acne. We get to start dealing with that.

She and her sister go to their forever home in a week. I think I need to pump up her immune system. Any ideas?I’m already putting lysine in their wet food.

I just want this sweet girl to catch a good break.

For the chin acne, be sure you're using stainless steel or ceramic dishes and wash them daily. My herpes girl will get acne when she's stressed. We run Comfort Zone diffusers to help keep her stress level down. What are you feeding them? Sometimes transitioning to a grain-free diet can help. Also, you might add a probiotic and a supplement to her diet. We use Proviable DC and Missing Link to boost gut health and overall wellness.

Hello been doing lysine for about two months. I’m washing the bowls as we speak. I need to get the water bowl washed tonight after work. I just ordered a probiotic. I hand them off to their new mama next weekend. So I wanted to get a routine set up for her.

Generally anything labelled "immune boosting" is pseudoscience and not worth the money.

Stress can really bring a cat down, seems like she's had a rough start. Time in a nice loving home with good food and all her needs met will help a lot, and she will probably grow out of it.

A little bit of exfoliation daily with a soft toothbrush really helped my cat’s chin acne. He also loved it lol

Thank you going to try that. I just noticed her rubbing her chin on the edge of the cat box. Need to nip that in the bud.
