Hello furriends,

I am considering getting food allergy testing done for my cat. The test my vet uses is nutriscan. Does anyone have experience with this test, or would you recommend a different food allergy test? Thanks in advance.

Background: my cat has had diarrhea for almost a week, started her on metronidazole yesterday. She is being her usual self otherwise. We are trying to figure out the underlying cause. She’s been eating a bland diet since Friday. I already give pumpkin fortiflora but want to switch to S Boulardii, and I already ordered some. The vet also wants to rule out bacterial infection and PCI deficiency.

I would like to hear more also! That seems pretty interesting.

Idid a search under Nutriscan and here are the results:

Search Results for Query: nutriscan

Has your cat had other issues other than diarrhea for one week? If not, I think it might be a good idea to let your Vet rule out those items you mentioned, AND get started on the S. Boulardi before investing in the allergy testing as it's quite expensive. Of course, perhaps it was your Vet who suggested the Nutriscan :dunno: ?
