I have had 2 kittens have to be put down after being diagnosed with FIP. I'm in New Hampshire. I am devistated, and looking for anyone else that has had to endure this awful experience.
Thank-you all for your support. This is the saddest I have felt in my life. My kittens were brother and sister and were diagnosed within less than 3 months of each other. The cattery I bought them from insists they have no sick cats there, but these kittens were only 6 and 9 months old when diagnosed, and I got them when they were 3 months old. The cattery has since retired their mother and father and claims to have sold their brother who at first I was told they were keeping for their breeding program. They are not at all compassionate about what suffering the kittens endoured and the grief I and my family feel. They have just basically turned their heads the other way and continue to breed the remainder of their cats. This is just not right.Originally Posted by meandmyguys
O, I'm terribly sorry for your loss. There are quite a few folks on here that have had the misfortune of dealing with this disease, myself included. I lost my kitty last Fall and it was terrible. While going through this I found this website. Fortunatly, his brother never contracted the disease and tested negative. There are some wonderful resources about this disease online. I had never even heard of it until I started researching my kitty's symptoms. I am sending you good thoughts and prayers to help you during this awful time. God Bless.
