...to introduce myself. I joined the forum over a month ago and have been really busy with holidays,
working on the house, and learning to live by our new cat's rules.
My name is Barry, from Northeastern Oklahoma, U.S.A.
I haven't owned a cat since I was a kid but have always admired them for their independence & resourcefulness.
The reason I joined: Iris. She's a female domestic short-hair, orange, somewhere between 4-8 months old. I don't know her exact age
because she was a stray that my aunt found and brought to us.
We didn't plan on getting a pet until my elderly grandfather moved in
with us, and he's loved cats for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately, Iris hasn't really "taken" to him as she loves to run and play and he just can't keep up with her. But I have gotten so attached to her that I would not even consider trading her for any other.
She is well cared for, spoiled, generally well-behaved, much loved, and of course...the cutest kitty in the world!
Sorry for such a long intro, guess I get carried away sometimes.
Glad I found the site. The forums have been very helpful and it seems to be a wonderful community. There's just something extraordinary about all people who love cats. See ya. Barry
