same here... i keep the house really warm, by most people's standards, [82 F] but the a/c still comes on sometimes, & the ceiling fans are always on in the room i'm in.
i think Ferris looks handsome [how could he not?] but i'm glad you're researching a new vet, just because of the grief these people gave you. you're the owner, you're the human who knows him best - no animal acts normally at the vet's office, after all - they can't judge his behavior/stress level on that small amount of time they spend with him. & i like UGG boots, myself! & that tail is really showy with all that other fur gone!

The only thing I can say is:

Don't you love the fact that his tabby markings can be seen on his skin???

Yes, except it isn't his skin, it's his fur, just really really short. They didn't shave him bald, just gave him a whiffle.
