I just bought a silver mat at Wal-mart called. Mylar blanket back in camping area..think it was less than 2.00. It was very thin. Hope it's okay. I lined the whole shelter (which is a storage tote) then put a wool blanket on top until I can find straw. I also put a lined grocery bag down that I cut at the bottom to make it spread out that is for cold items. Hope that's okay too. Let's see what others say. I made bigger front entrance on the side of tote and a smaller on the end and put it up on flat pavers. Just in case wild animal gets in they can go put other door. I put Styrofoam under it to hold in heat since its off the ground about 3 inches or so

I saw a post here last winter in regard to something you could put in the ferrals sleep area that they could lie on to help them retain body heat. And I remember looking at the website that someone had posted a link to but lost the information. It was a silver mat type thing and I remember the cost was very minimal. I want to get some of these for this winter....can someone help?
I just ordered 2 from Amazon. They said they were used but each came in a sealed bag so someone must have purchased them and decided it wasn't what they wanted. They are soft and feels a bit like memory foam. Got both for less than 10.00. I put them in each storage tote and put catnip on a corner of it. The 3 kittens (about 4 mo old) were in the totes when I took fresh water back and it's not very cold. It's windy. I m so pleased. Now I really need to get a hold of P.A.W.S.to get mama cat fixed . I also found a list of agencies that may be able to foster or adopt. Mom is too ferral but the kittens let me sit with them while they eat. Hope this was helpful. I also bought a car windshield cover and going to use it as insulation in the tote without mylar blanket. I do have that tote covered in contractor trash bag.

You can get them at Wal mart or Amazon. Someone said last night to use the hand warmers in their houses. I bought warming mats from Amazon also for each of their houses but was thinking about buying some of the hand warmers.
