hi
i have been feeding a very young ferel cat for seven months now,she has gained my trust, lets me stroke her,she has been inside my house, but most of the time she sits all evening on the step looking at us.
i discovered she was pregnant!so i made her a safe place from a large box putting a cat flap in it with soft bedding. she had her kittens two nights ago, tonight i tried to follow her to find the kittens, she spotted me and came running to me,then she took me,stopping as i caught up with her, giving a meow each time, she led me right to where they were, deep in the undergrowth,i could not get to see the kittens or hear them.
i felt honoured that she trusted me enough to show me.
should i go each day and leave her food or let her carry on coming to our home for her food?i do not know a great deal about cats, but i do feel very close to this young cat,and would love her as a pet, people say she will never sit on my lap or let me get so close as she is ferel, is this true?
surely if i continue to display love towards her she will in time ?
can anyone give me some advice on what to do?would i stand a better chance with one of her kittens?this is her first litter i would think as she is only a kitten herself.
She looks so thin and scraggy now she has delivered, and i want so much to build her up, what is the best food i can give her?
i hope someone out there will give me some advice,i want to do the right thing by her!
thankyou for your time and any help.
