Feral Mama separate from kitten in crawlspace of my home

So happy Mommy is out.  I would put a puppy pee pad under the trap.  If the trap is the only place he can get food, he'll go in it.  As ShadowsRescue said, he may be too light to spring a big trap.  A smaller trap or one with ahair trigger will be best.  Good luck!

Yes I had just trapped the kitten and Mom for spay/neuter, shots, etc.  The Mom was recovering in a pen in the garage when she escaped into the crawl space. 

He is about 4 months old so I am hoping that he is less wary of a trap???  I don't know though, as he has been smart enough to run up the pipes into the walls! 

Thanks for the feedback about the lining for the trap. 

I will keep you posted.

I have been able to reunite the Mom and baby!  They are now outside the crawl space and it is secured. They are both back to their established pattern of feeding and appear healthy. 

Thank you for your ideas and support through that challenging situation!
