She is one year old and hasn t been gone this long, also she s an indoor outdoor cat. Before she left she had a swollen eye and was a bit underweight but I dont think that it s too alarming. We live in the country so putting posters up wouldn t really help. Will she be back?

She may be out looking for a tom. Females usually stay home and let the toms come to them but they will leave sometimes. That's kind of the best case scenario :/.

It might still be worth contacting the vets and animal control in the nearest towns, and any nearby shelters. She may have hitched a ride on a vehicle and ended up far away.

Is it most likely that she'll be back? When she's out of heat? I've checked the shelters but she isn't on them unfortunately.

You have to call the shelters or go there yourself. They can't adopt out strays until the stray hold is up, so they won't be on the website. And if they get deemed unadoptable they'll never show up on the website :(.

If she's just out looking for love, yes, she should be back soon. If she did hitch a ride on a vehicle, she may have gotten too far to get home.

You can also try putting posters up in nearby towns. She may not have gotten caught by animal control and is maybe being fed by some nice people.
