I have a potential owner for a one year old calico felv+ cat.
The potential owner, however, operates on immunodeficient
mice for biology research. Are these mice able to become infected with the virus through her? Please reply. RUTH

Ruth,

I doubt it. I believe that FELV is only contagious through feces, urine and body fluids.

Anybody else?

I believe that feline leukemia virus is species specific..meaning that only cats can give it to other cats. I doubt there would be transmission between mice and cats, but I am not a veterinarian. Good luck.

Dear Ruth,
I do believe that Donna and KittyKratz are right about the transmision between cats and mice. It wouldn't hurt to ask your vet this quick question. I will be praying for you and your baby...I hope you adopt her

God Bless You Always,
