A little over a month ago I rescued a cat from animal control that was pregnant. I'm fully ready and capable of caring for her and her kittens. I took her to the vet for an URI and got antibiotics for her. 3 vets have told me she was pregnant. I could feel the kittens when I petted her belly so I'm doubtful that it was a false pregnancy. About 3 weeks ago the vet gave her the feline leukemia vaccine. The vet was aware my kitty was pregnant. I made the assumption that since she knew my kitty was pregnant anything she gave her would be safe or she would let me know if it wasn't. Now I can no longer feel the kittens and I think she is loosing her belly. I've been doing some research and have seen several articles that say a pregnant cat should never be vaccinated unless absolutely necessary, especially the feline leukemia vaccine. I have another appointment with the vet tomorrow. I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea on what the likelihood is that the vaccine that was given to my cat caused her to loose the kittens. I'm assuming it was reabsorption because I haven't found any evidence that she aborpted. I intent to confront my vet about it tomorrow in either case. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
